ROOF CLEANING & MOSS REMOVAL

The Professional Roof Cleaning Service

Moss growth on roof tiles retains moisture on the roof and between tiles. If freezing occurs this moisture can cause damage to roof tiles, shalling or cracking in old properties.

Moss is extra weight on the roof especially when very wet which can cause structural damage to roof timbers. Moss growth causes problems with a build up of additional plant growth on roof tiles.

This often causes gutters to get blocked more frequently.

All your gutters will be cleaned and this is included in the price.

Roof Cleaning Frequently Asked Questions

How do you clean the roof?

We use telescopic poles to scrape the roof tiles with a blade designed to for each roof tile type.

It does look very clean afterwoods, however damage is done to the roof tiles as the pressure washer can remove the granular resin coating from roof tiles.  This makes the tiles porous and makes them look plain concrete gray in colour. This method is also very messy and your down pipes can get blocked due to the amount of water and moss coming down gutters.

No, not normally as we have our own scaffold tower. There may be the occassional time scaffold is needed depending on the roof height and style.

Also depending on the roof tiles we will climb on to the roof using our ladders and scrape from there, but most of the time will work off our towers to prevent damage or breaking of tiles.

In dry weather, we would sweep the roof down with a hand brush to remove grit and any remaining plant growth then apply a fungicidal wash treatment to kill moss and lichen.

This will help to stop moss regrowth and cleans the tiles naturally.

We use Biocide to effectively remove discolouration and other natural growths. It can take 12 – 18 months to get full results.
